This makes me want to read all of these (and re-read the one I read ;)
I can think of a rather iconic older movie that did the "last chapter from a different perspective thing" first. Interesting when literature imitates film and not the other way around, no?
Love your clever write-up and all of the recommendations! I have gotten on Libby waiting lists for a couple of the books.
Your positive take on one of the books (to remain nameless, no hurting feelings here!) gives a refreshing perspective that makes me rethink my opinion.
My Nice and Niche addition, in the category of semi-autobiographical, quirky books, set in 1930s London, published in 1950, is Our Spoons Came from Woolworths by Barbara Comyns. Highly recommend listening to the audiobook, read by Madeleine Leslay, in a voice and tone completely congruous with the author's narrative voice.

Success! That is interesting, I wonder who did that technique first!
Also, that cover photo! 🥰
